Stories Without Borders™ (Tapping the healing potential of Story Quests)
Imagine a place that is both fanciful and intensely real. A place where each and every object you encounter, from the leaves on the ground to the pictures hanging on walls have been carefully chosen to tell a story - a story that allows you to step into the lives of its characters, letting you look, listen, and learn about how those lives unfolded. Imagine a place where you are invited to not only read along, but participate in and have an impact on the story - a place where stories are alive and always changing. This place exists - not only in your imagination, but in the virtual world of Second Life where Stories Without Borders™ are being envisioned and created every day.
Themes for Stories Without Borders™ range from the power and importance of interdependency to celebrating the lives of those living with HIV/AIDS. Each topic and theme we tackle is designed to give participants a direct, personal, and engaging experience with the subject matter. In addition, participants learn and use information about the topic/theme while on their Quests. Finally, participants are taught the skills they need to share stories of their own, thereby encouraging the development of communities of practice in which the individual and his/her gifts are recognized and valued.
