Nazz Lane

Nazz Lane

As a resident of Second life, freelance journalist and author Nazz Lane leads an active business and social life. Rezzing into his second life in March of 2007, Nazz served for an interim period as the Business Manager for "Simone! Design", and in leading the Second Life Charity, "Virtual Angels".  He began his career in journalism with the launch of his blog, "Lane's List" which is a personal travelogue of people and places in virtuality. Shortly after that he began freelancing for the SL Newspaper where his stories can be found generally in the People or Arts and Entertainment section of that publication. Nazz has spoken to and chronicled the stories of Musicians, Venues Owners, Artists, Gallery Openings and Owners, Nonprofit Events, People and Places for the SL Newspaper and more recently the Metaverse Tribune and Avenue Magazine. Since the inception of Lane's List and as a freelancer, he's met some of SL's most talented and creative people and has visited a host of sites, from captivating gardens, to affable and welcoming coffeehouses, classic ballrooms, stylish art gallery's  and neighborhood gin joints.

As an author Nazz has published in SL the first five chapters of his serialized novel, “Borders of Our Lives”, which is based on characters and the setting of SL. Since the characters don’t exist solely in the metaverse, the stories integrate their lives, both virtual and real into a mixed reality. The stories cross over because the characters exist in both, the virtual and real, and their experiences on either side of the keyboard affect who they are in both lives. The stories follow the life and activities of Jeffrey Goff (aka Jeffrey Stone a lawyer from Chicago) as he explores this mixed reality.

Nazz is planning to continue working on both his novel and other fiction along with chronicling the lives of the people he meets or places he visits in SL or in any one of the several other virtual worlds he inhabits.

Her manuscript, Hotel Sunset, won an Honorable Mention award in the 73rd Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition. Under various pen names, she has written books, novellas and short stories that run the genre gamut of science fiction, fantasy, short roman noir and paranormal romance and many more waiting to drip onto the page.

A fan of David Lynch and Alfred Hitchcock, she also has a love for film, vampires and visual storytelling which she couples with the art of the written word to tell her stories. While penning her works, she loves to create artwork that explores her strong female characters and the men in their lives.

Suzy Yue
Suzy Yue

Born to her Second Life on 1/3/2007, Suzy hit the ground running.  She made many friends and explored a great deal, but when she discovered filmmaking in SL, she was hooked. Bringing along a wealth of RL experience as a stage actress, director, and designer, as well as a film editor, Suzy went quickly from being an actress to a production assistant, to Production Coordinator, to director while working on her first SL production.

During that time, she formed her own casting agency, Suzy’s Super Cast and Crew, and production company, Running Lady Productions.  Through those companies, she and her RL spouse GnuEon Aeon have worked tirelessly to raise the bar for SL machinima production values, production techniques, and the machinima talent pool.

SSC&C recruits individuals from all walks of RL and SL, and her actors and crew are known for the talent, enthusiasm, and professionalism they exhibit on all fronts.  Members of "The Crew” have appeared in numerous SL and RL works, including the acclaimed R-Heroes machinima project for IBM, directed by Ms. Yue, and the Cocos Island machinima for Costa Rica.  Running Lady Productions’ client list includes IBM, Popcha!, Flashpoint Academy, and the Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society.

Suzy’s personal goal is to raise awareness in the “real world” of the level of performing talent that exists in Second Life.  She looks forward to the day when this environment is considered a legitimate space for performers and filmmakers, where they will not only be taken seriously as artists and craftsmen, but will also be compensated fairly for their work.
